Celebrating Christmas

We need to celebrate Christmas because we can celebrate Jesus's birthday. It is important because we can celebrate the coming of Santa. It is fun to celebrate Christmas because we can collect presents from Santa Claus.

Everyone celebrates Christmas so we can send presents to our neighbours and friends. Supporting Christmas is very important so we can watch the parade of Santa. I think Christmas is fun because there are lots of fireworks and it is a good time to play games, watch movies, and visit your relatives. It is the perfect time to pray with your family.

How is APOPS important?

APOPS is important because we can listen to music from instruments.

The instruments are violin, flute, trumpet, drums, piccolo and keyboard. We need to listen to APOPS so we will know what musical instruments they use to make music. If we don't go to APOPS, we will not know any musical instruments and what sounds they make.

The best part I like most is the music from the musicians playing the trumpet because it makes a big sound. When the orchestra started to make the music of a parade, it scared me.

I think APOPS is cool because the musicians play lots of musical instruments to make cool music.

Have You Heard of the Life Cycle of A Butterfly?

One hot spring day, a small butterfly laid 20,000 eggs in the petal of a dandelion. It looks very small and round. After a week, it hatched into small caterpillars. Caterpillars munch piles of leaves. They crawl like a snail. The caterpillars grew huge. Next, they spun a case around them. Lastly, they turn into a chrysalis. Then they go to sleep.

Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar is changing. First the wings are growing. Next the mouth disappears and turns into a proboscis. It is a long tongue like a straw. The antennae and legs are growing as well.

First the butterfly comes slowly out from the case. Their wings look soggy and crumpled. Next the butterfly opens its wings for blood to make them strong. Finally the butterfly is ready to fly and to lay more eggs to make more caterpillars.

Should We Celebrate Mission Day?

We should celebrate Mission Day so we can raise money for the orphans in India.

Raising money for the orphans is important so the orphans can buy food and water from the shops.

Donating coins to the orphans is very important so they can live longer and have electricity and homes to live in, books to read, food to eat and clothes and uniforms to wear.

Finally we have to celebrate Mission Day so we can have fun raising money so the orphans can feel happy having food in India.

My Mini-beast - The Dragonfly

This is so fun! Drago the dragonfly landed on my backyard today. Drago was looking for a place to live. He couldn't find a place to live so he flew away.

One night, he was flying into a barn. He took a piece of grain and went to the grasslands to make a nest to live. After a while, another dragonfly came. The new dragonfly and the other dragonfly made friends and worked together to make a place to live. Then they started to mate. They made a little dragonfly.

Day after day, the little dragonfly grew up. After four weeks, he grew into a adult. Lastly, the adult dragonfly was sitting nicely inside his home, waiting for another dragonfly to come.

My Eye Test

Yesterday, I went to the library to get an eye test. First, I had to tell the eye checker my first name, last name, and my age. Then one of the eye testers took me to the resource room for an eye test. The tester gave me a pair of glasses and told me to look at the yellow lady on the picture at the door. Next, another tester had a torch and said to ignore the light and look at the lady at the same time.

After that, I sat on a chair because someone told me to sit down on a chair. An eye checker told me to wear a pair of 3D glasses and look at the words on the wall. The last sentence on the bottom is tiny and too hard to read. Then, I was finished with my eye test.

Ronald McDonald's Visit

This is going to be exciting! Ronald McDonald is coming to St Patrick's School for a visit.

First, we sat down on the mat. After a couple of seconds, Ronald McDonald appeared and started to make the stage. While he was doing that, he shook his bottom. After that, he made his picture bookshelf up.

He was wearing red and white stripy socks, red boots, a yellow shirt with a McDonald badge and a McDonald's logo on the back of his blouse. His nose was red and he is a funny clown.

Before the show started, Ronald needed a volunteer to read his picture book. He picked my teacher, Mrs Twomey, so she read the book by herself.

Then it started. On the first page, he woke up and his alarm clock rang and it was loud. Then he came out from the back of the stage. It was really windy so he hung his red and white stripy socks. One of the socks flew away! He had to get it back but it flew somewhere else.  He tried to look for the sock but he couldn't find it so he said, "Let's find out!" Then he flipped the page over the stage and went backstage at the same time.

On the next page, Ronald McDonald was about to drive on a car, and said, "My car is called McClick. Do you want me to drive you to school? Well, I like to go on my car and my scooter, but this time, I am going to walk." Then Ronald McDonald sang us the 'Make it Click' song.

The Very Quiet Cricket

Oh! I saw a little cricket, standing on one of the leaves of a tree. The little cricket went to meet his brother. It said, "Hello!" and the baby cricket jumped away. Next, it saw a locust and it said, "Hi!". And the little cricket hopped away. Then he saw a dragonfly. It said, "How are you?". Then the little cricket leaped away and the dragonfly flew away. The little cricket saw a praying mantis. The little cricket was worried that the mantis will eat him so the little cricket tried to avoid the praying mantis. But it got into a fight with the praying mantis. The cricket lost because it wasn't ready. And that was the end of the little, quiet cricket.

After she hid them, my dad and I needed to locate them. Then the games began. 10 minutes later, my dad had six eggs and I had four eggs. My dad won. It was fun.

How Do Cats Show Their Feelings

Cats have many ways of showing their feelings.
When cats are angry, they show their feelings by scratching, biting, hissing, growl and tail swishing.
When cats are happy, they show their feelings by purring, liking you and rolling over to get their tummy tickled.
When cats are scared, they show their feelings by running away from you, hiding from you and their hair stands on their ends.
